Wilkening Rumford Doors Installation Instructions 12/6/23 Wilkening Rumford doors are designed to fit our standard Rumford fireplaces with openings 30"x30", 36"x32", 36"x36", 42"x42" and 48"x48". Larger and custom sizes, nickel and gold plating are available.

Wilkening Rumford doors fit inside the fireplace opening and the angle iron frame is 1/8" less than the standard Rumford openings. For example, the 36"x36" Wilkening door frame is 35-3/4"x35-3/4". The frame of the Wilkening Rumford Door is 1-1/2" wide on the sides and top so the outside of the frame will be about 3" wider and 1-1/2" taller than the actual fireplace opening. For the appearance of an inside fit we recommend setting the Wilkening door within an inner surround 1-1/2" or more wider on each side and at the top than the fireplace opening. This method is especially useful if the fireplace surround is to be made with stone or other rough material. |
