11/16/07 The fireplace uses standard throat tiles across the front.......the tiles then miter to make the return. It works well.......when doors open it can cause smoking but otherwise operates nicely. Someone gave the owners the grate.......it is hard to get people to burn wood in other than the usual stacked way. Best, Dan
