Dear Jim and Constance,
I am attempting to send two photos of the chimneys,
one from down at the street in front of the garden
wall, and one taken from near the dome on top of the
courtyard roof.
We finally topped off the two chimneys with a flat
concrete slab on raised corner blocks, and completed
the cement cladding that makes the chimneys look a lot
like traditional wind towers that used to cool Arabian
Gulf homes before air conditioning. They are cement
plastered and painted off-white like the outside of
the house. All that remains is to affix wire netting
around the top openings to keep birds and debris from
getting in. We are SO proud of our work. You can be
too.
