Hello Jim,

I recently completed this commission for a client in Brenham, Texas. It is contemporary and exposes the beauty of the Rumford components. I plan to put this on my website soon.

Tim,

I like it. Flue liners which are not enclosed in masonry, however, may be more likely to crack from thermal shock. You might caution your customer to always start with small fires and warm up the system gradually. Let me know how it works.

Best,
Jim Buckley

Then on 1/9/10 ...

New Journey Teaching Art

I just want to let you know that I am beginning a new journey in my career this year as I begin teaching art at Edison Middle School (HISD) in the east end. I began preparing for this last spring when I enrolled in the ACP educators certification program. I am very fortunate to have this opportunity and appreciate everyone's support. I hope I can inspire some young artists and I know they will inspire me.

Tim, That sounds exciting. Best of luck. I think teaching is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Wish I had realized that years ago. Keep me on your email list. I'd like to keep up with you - and see that you include Rumfords in some of your art work. I still think that "steel negligee" as I called it at http://www.rumford.com/Glover.html is inspired. Warm regards, Jim Buckley
