In March, 1998 construction of a Rumford fireplace was featured on the "This Old House" TV program (episode #1722).

The fireplace opening is five feet wide and four and a half feet tall and features Whitacre-Greer firebrick and Superior Clay Rumford components provided by McNear Brick & Block. Barbara Chambers of Chambers and Chambers, Architects was the architect and Dayton Masonry the masonry contractor.
