Model Rumford (concrete)

Cut on table saw. Scale: 3 cm = 1'-0"
2" (5 cm) thick Dow rigid Styrofoam form
4-3/4" (12 cm) wide opening
Covings cut at ~40 deg. so that fireback is 1-3/4" (4.3 cm) wide & covings 2-1/2" (6.5 cm)
Cranked blade down to 1-3/8" (3.4 cm) so that throat opening 5/8" (1.6 cm)
(Ran blade across - sideways - to cut curve - pretty good)

Using 1" thick styrofome, cut smoke chamber 4" (10.2 cm) wide at base, 2-3/4" (7 cm) high and 2" (5.2 cm) wide at top to fit flue.

Use forms for two concrete (well maybe plaster of paris) castings, 1) firebox and throat, 2) smoke chamber and flue.

Coated mould with Vaseline which worked great. First attempt left lots of voids - too stiff? Next attempt plaster mixed thinner to pancake batter consitency.
